The Facilities Maintenance Technician position works onsite from our client site in SF Bay Area. The role will support the upkeep and safety of its agency buildings grounds vehicles and equipment. The technician will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure timely repairs safety compliance and support for agency operations. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance minor construction coordination with vendors and other facility-related duties.

Pay Range $30/hr

Position Facilities Maintenance Technician

Schedule requires on-site presence five days a week. Flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

General Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair on:
    • Agency buildings and grounds
    • Equipment and tools
    • Fleet vehicles
    • Other agency property
  • Follow directives or written work orders for scheduled and emergency tasks
  • Collaborate with maintenance team members to complete project tasks

Communication & Coordination

  • Report ongoing or urgent repair needs to the Facilities Manager
  • Coordinate with other departments and agency staff regarding facility maintenance work

Facility Security & Safety

  • Monitor buildings and grounds for environmental and structural hazards (e.g. fire alarms locks exits)
  • Conduct minor repairs or escalate issues requiring vendor or emergency response coordination
  • Follow agency safety protocols and best practices for equipment handling and material storage

Departmental Moves & Reorganization

  • Move furniture cubicle units or equipment as needed
  • Perform pre- and post-move inspections setup and cleanup

Team Participation & Direction

  • Receive direction training and task assignments from the Facilities Manager
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete responsibilities and meet departmental goals

Equipment Transport

  • Transport supplies equipment and other items using personal or agency vehicles for agency business

Reporting

  • Update progress on assigned tasks using the agencys online ticketing system

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Attend and participate in agency meetings and trainings
  • Participate in safety drills inspections and emergency preparedness activities
  • Interact respectfully with staff clients and visitors in a professional and unobtrusive manner


Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum 3 years of related full-time experience
  • Valid California Drivers License and clean DMV record
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Clearance of criminal background check (Title XXII compliance)
  • Ability to follow written instructions in English and assist in emergency evacuations if needed
