Title: Assistant Site Coordinator- Elementary
Location: Melrose Public Schools
Supervisor: Site Coordinator Program Coordinator and Program Director
Status: Part- time hourly 18 hours/week or less non-union non-benefit eligible position runs through the academic year (approximately August - June)
Summary:Melrose Education Stations provide balanced enrichment programming at the end of the school day in students own elementary schools. Professional staff members engage students in a creative motivating and cooperative atmosphere to further inquiry and development.
Responsibilities:- Assist in Managing Master Roster check-in/check-out children verify attendance when Site Coordinator is out or teaching.
- Coach and supervise Instructors team leads and mentors
- Lead groups of children grades K-5 through after-school enrichment activities and model Education Stations employee expectations
- Assist with set-up and closing the site and leaving rooms in good condition
- Step in as an Instructor or Team Lead when needed
- Lead and model assigned activities such as art gym games and or small group circles
- Regularly communicate with staff parents and building principals teachers and nurses
- Assist with email communication
- Assist with making a weekly site schedule
- Assist with entering payroll information and review time sheets
- Assistant Site Coordinators manage all incidents at the site while the SC is attending meetings or not at the site. In the event of an emergency Assistant Site Coordinators carry out the established policy.
Qualifications:- High School graduate and minimum of 21 years of age
- A degree of coursework toward a degree in education program management or related field preferred but not required
- Available Monday-Friday 2:00- 5:30 pm
- Certifications: CPR First Aid Crisis Prevention and Intervention or the ability to obtain 5. Demonstrated experience with elementary age students is preferred
- Ability to remain calm and confident in multi-tasking through demanding situations and resolving conflicts
- Experience leading prioritizing delegating and working as part of a larger team
- Punctual Reliable and regular attendance is required
- Ability to pass a Background Check including Fingerprinting and a CORI

The employee must have close distance and peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Employment is in a school environment and activities occur inside and out. Site Coordinators need to be able to carry up to 20lbs and may be subject to a sufficient level of noise when groups of 40 or more children are gathered for activities.
