Overview
My client are looking for an ambitious and dedicated Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying within the construction industry and be ready to take on challenging projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cost estimation quantity take-offs and cost analysis for construction projects
- Prepare tender and contract documents including bills of quantities
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Monitor project progress and provide financial reports to management
- Collaborate with project managers architects engineers and other stakeholders to ensure cost efficiency and project success
- Participate in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
- Keep abreast of industry trends regulations and best practices in quantity surveying
Day-to-day
- Collaborating with project teams to prepare accurate cost estimates and bids
- Communicating and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
- Attending site visits and meetings with project stakeholders
- Reviewing and analysing project costs and making recommendations for cost savings
- Documenting and reporting on project financials and progress
- Keeping up to date with industry standards and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Construction Management or a related field
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts pricing and procurement processes
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Professional certification such as RICS or MRICS are a plus
