Overview

My client are looking for an ambitious and dedicated Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying within the construction industry and be ready to take on challenging projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cost estimation quantity take-offs and cost analysis for construction projects
  • Prepare tender and contract documents including bills of quantities
  • Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Monitor project progress and provide financial reports to management
  • Collaborate with project managers architects engineers and other stakeholders to ensure cost efficiency and project success
  • Participate in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
  • Keep abreast of industry trends regulations and best practices in quantity surveying

Day-to-day

  • Collaborating with project teams to prepare accurate cost estimates and bids
  • Communicating and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Attending site visits and meetings with project stakeholders
  • Reviewing and analysing project costs and making recommendations for cost savings
  • Documenting and reporting on project financials and progress
  • Keeping up to date with industry standards and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Construction Management or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts pricing and procurement processes
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Professional certification such as RICS or MRICS are a plus
