Job Description

Introduction

THE ROLE (Based in office 5 days a week)

Mulpha Australia is a diverse investment group with interests in residential real estate development commercial real estate real estate debt hotels leisure and hospitality assets together with private equity and a range of operational businesses. Our portfolio includes iconic assets such as InterContinental Sydney InterContinental Sanctuary Cove and Hayman Island The Sanctuary Cove integrated residential resort community Norwest Business Park to name a few.

Role responsibilities will include the following.

The Group Accountant is responsible for supporting the group reporting and projects to drive a robust financial control environment for the Mulpha Group. In this role you will support the Senior Finance Manager with managing the Group Finance function in reporting governance and accounting advisory including (but not limited to):

  • manage the Groups consolidation process
  • provide financial oversight and assist with the enforcement of Finance policies to ensure compliance. This includes policy drafting and implementation for areas like intercompany Balance Sheet Governance Accounting Policy refresh
  • support strategic projects on transformation and process improvement initiatives to drive efficiencies across the Finance function including uplift group reporting and analytical reviews
  • support the team to deliver the quarterly Group reporting compliance requirements and ad hoc projects (including system updates/changes) as required
  • close interaction with Divisional Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting and provision of accounting advice where required
  • key contact for external auditors during the annual audit. Management of audit deliverables and communication of audit requirements across internal teams

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • CA/CPA qualified
  • 2 years post-qualified experience preferably in a Group Function
  • Experience in audit and process improvement is highly desirable
  • Modelling and/or advanced excel skills is preferable
  • Strong control and process improvement mindset
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders in a dynamic environment
  • Strong leadership skills to train mentor and motivate individuals across the team
