PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To facilitate the clerical work needed to ensure that all facets of the Parent & Family Engagement Program are completed to ensure learning opportunities are maximized and resources are adequately provided to ultimately improve student achievement and parent and family engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High level of English proficiency for completing tasks telephone communication and preparation of written correspondence including skills in spelling punctuation and grammar Bilingual (English and Spanish) skills preferred
Ability to use Microsoft Word and applications and use of standard office equipment including copy machine/scanner printer 10 key calculator
Ability to work with detail and with a high degree of accuracy
Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment to set priorities and make decisions Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information
Experience:
Two (2) years experience with clerical and bookkeeping duties preferred

Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum: $14.00
Midpoint: $16.77
Maximum: $19.54
Note:Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each persons job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Process purchase requisitions for supplies technology and/or materials for campus Parent & Family Engagement Specialist the Evening Study Center Program annual District Advisory Council and Parent Advisory Council meetings and Parent Leadership Conference(s) throughout the year.
- Review and process purchase requisitions for supplies and materials needed for the Parent and Family Engagement program at all Title I campuses and district level. Review and process supplies and material for parent meetings campus events such as literacy science math workshops community health fairs etc.
- Process travel/mileage request for Parent and Family Engagement staff for conferences trainings and home visits.
- Keep up to date inventory of all supplies and materials for Parent and Family Engagement Program and Job Skills Classes and order supplies/materials as needed notifying Parent and Family Specialists.
- Assist in the development and distribution of the Title I Parent & Family Engagement Handbook at the beginning of the school year.
- Revise forms needed for Parent and Family Engagement Program activities and classes scheduled at campuses and district level for documentation.
- Assist in planning organizing and arranging Parent Events throughout the year such as Back to School Fair Parent Symposium Conference(s) Father Appreciation Night Mother Appreciation Night held during the Fall and Spring. Includes working with local and community organizations to increase access to health organizations.
- Perform general office routines such as but not limited to typing reports forms correspondence; maintaining files; screening telephone calls and processing mail.
- Prepare and process all documentation for records request (payroll forms agendas sign in sheets and minutes) up to date of all Parent and Family Engagement activities/events/programs (i.e. meetings workshops seminars).
- Generater reports of parent classes parent meeting staff meeting parent events as required by the State and Federal Strategist.
- Keep the Director for State and Federal Programs informed regarding the status on all projects undertaken and of directives or requests received internally or externally.
- Attend monthly/semester trainings and Parent and Family Engagement staff meetings conducted by the Director for State and Federal Programs and/or Federal Programs Strategist to take minutes and to be kept abreast of the activities events etc. discussed and other pertinent information critical to the implementation of policies and services at the campus level.
- Follow McAllen ISD Leadership Model and Customer Service Standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator) in accordance with funding source guidelines.
