The Sterile Processing Department at Sanford is responsible to pick all clean supplies for each surgery and to clean & sterilize all surgical instruments. In this department you wear surgical scrubs so please come to work in your sweatpants and change into scrubs! You are never required to work outside your shift hours but overtime is often available. This role is responsible to know all about the instrumentation ordering replacing set building and use of our instrument tracking system Censitrac. This person will keep track of all loaner / vendor sets.Summary
The Lead Sterile Processing Coordinator will be required to perform all or part of the following responsibilities depending on role and market location. Responsible for the coordination of all instrumentation including loaner instrumentation inventory management vendor management and IT systems management.Job Description
Competent to recognize potential and actual processing errors and immediately follows-up according to procedure or management instruction. Must possess ability to provide in-services and training as requested or needed. Works closely with ancillary and support services team members. Assists in training of new hires. Appropriately completes routine quality checks summarizes results and assists in preparation of reports to demonstrate compliance with recommendations for Joint Commission Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other regulatory agencies. Identifies variations in processes that require follow-up prepares documentation and reports to manager. The Lead Sterile Processing Coordinator may be required to support initial and ongoing staff assessments and identify requirements for ongoing education for the SPD technicians. The Coordinator provides the monitoring of core competencies and supports the internal audit and quality processes.
Qualifications
