Job Description

JOB GOAL:

To develop instruct and collect data on students in the areas of education behavior andsocial skills to reintegrate them to a public school campus.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This position is Nine and one-fourth (9.25) month contract (190 days) plus a benefits package.NOTE:Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and LRSDs salary placement guidelines.FLSA: EXEMPT.

  1. Minimum of a Bachelors degree.
  2. Current Arkansas certification in Special Education 7-12 with Arkansas qualified Status in SS English and Science.
  3. Certification in 7-12 of successful experience in working with students at risk.
  4. Evidence of ability to work well with others.
  5. Experience in implementing non-aversive behavioral programs and social skills training.
  6. Evidence of strong writing and organizational skills.
  7. Evidence of ability to implement Individual Education Plans.
  8. Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
  1. Serves as a member of the educational management team.
  2. Implements individual educational goals and objectives.
  3. Collects data on students progress.
  4. Meets with classes as assigned.
  5. Plans a program of study that as much as possible meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students.
  6. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  7. Employs a variety of instructional techniques consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  8. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  9. Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administration regulation.
  10. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct and for the classroom develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintains order in a fair and just manner.
  11. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
  12. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
  13. Performs other duties as the principal/supervisor may from time to time assign.
