Product Compliance Risk & Oversight, Global Trade and Product Compliance, AWS Compliance & Security Assurance

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Product Compliance professional who will be responsible for the implementation of compliance frameworks and coordinate cross-team initiatives within AWS Product Compliance ensuring coverage and accuracy of our key performance indicators. This role will help drive mechanism adoption and ensure effective communication across teams while supporting operational excellence.
The role is responsible for the implementation of our compliance processes ensuring smooth execution and adherence to requirements. By maintaining clear visibility on our delivery to set targets this role helps streamline compliance implementation and supports overall program efficiency.

Beyond project coordination the role provides operational support by monitoring compliance control points gathering relevant data and analyzing trends to identify areas for improvement. A key focus is on addressing operational inefficiencies through proactive problem-solving and process optimization. The role facilitates communication across teams supports cross-functional meetings and escalates roadblocks as needed to maintain momentum. Additionally it contributes to process improvement initiatives by gathering team feedback documenting best practices and assisting in the continuous enhancement of compliance mechanisms. Through these efforts the role ensures the organization maintains a robust and effective compliance framework.

You will be part of a Product Compliance Global Market Access team within AWSs Global Trade and Product Compliance team (GTPC) that drives assurance and traceability of our product compliance evidence ensuring AWS business initiatives can deploy globally with no disruption and troubleshoots and resolves compliance issues that arise in the course of AWSs business.

GTPC is responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure equipment necessary to support the AWS services are imported/exported in a compliant manner across the multiple countries where AWS operates and will expand including all product certification/safety regulations.


Key job responsibilities
Implement Compliance Control Frameworks Support the development and execution of compliance control point frameworks by coordinating with relevant stakeholders and ensuring alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.

Process Deployment Coordination & Adoption Tracking Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive adoption of compliance mechanisms track project milestones and report key performance metrics to ensure successful implementation.

Operational Monitoring & Data Analysis Monitor compliance decisions for ship readiness collect relevant data and analyze trends to identify risks inefficiencies and areas for improvement in compliance operations.

Documentation & Reporting Assist in the development and publishing of the supporting policy documentation compliance procedures and best practices while also contributing to status reports and performance updates for leadership.

Facilitate Cross-Team Collaboration Act as a liaison between teams and stakeholders by supporting meetings escalating roadblocks and coordinating the resolution of technical and compliance-related issues.

Drive Continuous Process Improvement Support the identification and implementation of process enhancement initiatives by gathering feedback documenting best practices and ensuring the effectiveness of compliance mechanisms.

5 years experience managing product compliance issues preferably within a technology company analyzing regulatory requirements and developing policies and procedures
Experience in large-scale compliance/risk management roles preferably in product regulatory compliance
4-year BA/BS

Experience developing processes to meet internal control requirements in fast paced tech company
Experience integrating compliance processes into tools for greater efficiency
Proven ability to deep dive technical product compliance topics
Experience working with test laboratories/certification bodies
Experience effectively articulating recommendations/conclusions both verbally and in written form
Strong data-driven analytical skills with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines multi-task and prioritize workload in ambiguous environments
Highly organized and able to build trusting relationships with stakeholders at various levels across the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
