Position: Educational Assistant - Save the Children Grant
Supervisor:Principal/ Save The Children
General Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the principal and School Family Liaison the educational assistant performs primarily instructional tasks to meet the objectives and criteria of the specific program assignment.
The general classification of an educational assistant may be defined as one who is available in the classroom as a second supervising adult and who works to assist students as defined by the program performing such duties as reinforcing teacher-presented lessons and skills reinforcing concepts previously taught instruction in English language development cultural presentations and other school related functions.
A certified school instructor administrator or their designee assigns the educational assistants duties. The supervising instructor is responsible for the supervision and yearly evaluation of the educational assistant and for the instruction and supervision of the students in the assistants charge.

Sitting standing lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs) reaching squatting kneeling and depending on the position performing CPI restraints as learned in training.
MATH TUTORS- ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES
Implementation of Save the Childrens Literacy Block
Participate in all trainings related to the grade level proficiency program component area they will be
implementing.
Assist PC with organizing and maintaining mathematics manipulatives and preparing materials for
activities.
Work with identified children struggling in mathematics in grades K-6 who would benefit from small
group assistance in mathematics.
Implement STCs math program framework and use resources provided.
Incorporate one hour of planning time into weekly schedule to analyze progress monitoring data and
plan appropriate instruction.
Administer and analyze pre- and post-STAR assessments and other assessments as appropriate.
Address individual childrens needs under the guidance of the Program Coordinator (allergies 504 plan
etc.).
Be mindful of diverse learners and make adaptations to create an inclusive learning environment as
needed.
Submit group attendance lesson plans and assessment data to the Program Coordinator as designated
by program policy.
Ensure Safeguarding & Data Protection Policies are Followed
In this role it will be critical to foster an environment that is safe for the children with whom Save the
Children is in contact. The duties to ensure this will include:
Collaborate with Save the Childrens Lead Associate to foster an understanding of our safeguarding and
data protection policies through ongoing training and technical assistance.
Work closely with all program staff to ensure consistent reporting of safeguarding risks and incidents;
strong methodology in the field for managing risks and following reporting protocols; supplying proper
documentation in support of incident reports as needed; and collecting data on safeguarding risks and
efforts to mitigate risks in the program environment.
Make intentional regular efforts to remain up-to-date on key local and state child-welfare policies and
reporting protocols.
Follow all key local and state child-welfare policies and reporting protocols.
In association with program training and technical assistance efforts update/communicate Keep
Children Safe messaging to volunteers beneficiaries and representatives as needed.
Ensure data protection by collecting consent maintaining records for designated time period storing all
data in a secure location and protecting any shared data through encryption or by sharing to a secure
location.
Complete all required Save the Children Safeguarding trainings.

LIIERACY TUTORS- ROLES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
