Information Systems Communications Technician
Are you someone who knows their way around an IP address and isnt afraid of a little mud on their boots Do you love all things tech but would rather troubleshoot a network issue at a substation than be stuck in a cubicle all day If you love solving problems crave variety in your workday and enjoy balancing tech work inside and out Central Alabama Electric Cooperative (CAEC) is looking for a tech-savvy critical thinker who thrives in a team environment-and isnt afraid to get their hands dirty-to join our Information Systems team. What Were Looking For:
Were looking for people with the drive to learn and the passion to serve and we welcome candidates with a range of education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least four years job experience with support and troubleshooting corporate computer networks
- Associates degree or higher in Information Systems Computer Science or related field with at least two years job experience with support or troubleshooting corporate computer network systems
What Youll Do:
Youll be the boots-on-the-ground tech professional keeping our systems running like a well-oiled (and well-coded) machine:
- Install maintain and troubleshoot IT and communications systems at field sites substations and office locations
- Work with a variety of technology-field telecommunications mobile hardware office equipment GIS tools backup systems and more
- Provide tech support for both hardware and software wherever its needed-from the office to the field
- Help protect systems through backup monitoring and cybersecurity best practices
