Senior Underwriter M&A Tax based in either Madrid/Spain or Milan/Italy
Senior Underwriter M&A Tax:
- Independent underwriting review of tax insurance submissions.
- Drafting negotiation and administrative processing of policy documentation.
- Development of deep client and broker relationships to drive regional growth in the product.
- Positioning and marketing of AIG tax products in the European market through presentations articles and events.
- Work closely with the global tax insurance team to ensure consistency of appetite and underwriting.
- Foster close links with internal colleagues (for example claims) to drive optimal outcomes across underwriting and claims.
- Ad hoc support for W&I underwriters on tax aspects of W&I coverage as required.
What we are looking for:
- Excellent university degree in law or economics with a focus on tax law.
- Several years of professional experience in an international commercial law firm or Big 4 accounting firm.
- Qualification as tax consultant or specialized in tax law.
- Technical expertise on tax issues and M&A transactions.
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
- Independent legal and commercial negotiation of policies in conjunction with legal advisors and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team grasp complex concepts quickly and demonstrate resilience under pressure.
- Very good MS-Office knowledge.
- Willingness to travel and to market AIG tax insurance product.
- Excellent communication skills in English and either Spanish or Italian.
