The Title I Teacher at Will L. Lee Elementary School provides targeted instructional support in reading and mathematics to K3 students who are identified as needing additional assistance to meet grade-level standards. This role is funded through federal Title I Part A and focuses on closing achievement gaps by delivering supplemental evidence-based interventions in both individual and small-group settings.
The position reports to the Superintendent or his/her designee.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Support
Deliver supplemental instruction in reading and/or math to eligible K3 students utilizing evidence-based strategies.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with core curriculum and classroom instruction.
Implement and monitor progress of individualized intervention plans.
Conduct regular assessments to identify student needs and monitor progress.
Analyze data to inform instruction and adjust interventions accordingly.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and intervention outcomes.
Work closely with classroom teachers support staff and administrators to coordinate instructional strategies.
Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and ways to support learning at home.
Participate in professional learning communities and contribute to school-wide improvement efforts.
Ensure compliance with federal Title I regulations and district policies.
Assist in the development and implementation of the schools Title I plan.
Prepare documentation and reports as required for program evaluation and audits.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification
Bachelors degree in Education or related field (Masters degree preferred).
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements for elementary education.
Meet the Highly Qualified criteria as defined by the Michigan Department of Education.
Experience in delivering reading and/or math interventions at the elementary level.
Strong understanding of early childhood development and instructional best practices.
Proficiency in using assessment tools and data to drive instruction.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and adapt instruction to meet individual needs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Part-time position (o.6 FTE) during the academic year.
Standard school hours with occasional evenings for meetings or events.
Work is performed in a school environment with frequent interaction with students staff and parents.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to author reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups staff parents and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk sit and talk or hear. COMPENSATION. The compensation is outlined by the collective bargaining agreement with the Richmond Education Association (REA).
