Job Description

Amazon is hiring a Procurement Manager to be based in Barcelona Spain.

As a member of the EMEA Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) you will be leading a team of procurement professionals supporting procurement and business teams across Europe Middle East and Africa in a diverse set of operations (for example catalogs vendor onboarding procurement requisitions compliance among others).

The role will be based in Barcelona with up to 15% traveling.

Key job responsibilities
Lead a team of procurement professionals performing the activities related to the operations listed above.
Ensure adherence to Amazons global spend policy and driving compliance to Procurement policies and procedures.
Build effective stakeholder relationships - develop relationships with primary internal customers (local Operations leadership) external suppliers and other teams within respective market.
Drive effective delivery of metrics by leading / supporting projects and initiatives; identifying root cause of issues and corrective actions.
Assist with the development of new standards procedures and solutions for the procurement operations to ensure business process continuous improvement.
Partner with other procurement leaders and teams on local or regional projects and initiative.
Contribute to achievement of Procurements annual targets catalogue penetration contracts maintenance vendor onboarding and maintenance objectives.
Scope roles recruit and hire according to business needs.
Mentor and develop employees for career enhancement and direction.


A day in the life
As a Procurement Manager in our Central Services team youll spend part of your time diving into operational dashboards understanding where things are flowing well and where support is needed. You might jump into a working session to solve a bottleneck or review a newly proposed process for item creation in catalogs.

The role isnt just about operations its also about people. Youll mentor team members help them prioritize and guide them through professional growth. No two days look the same. Expect to work closely with business stakeholders across Europe and beyond. Some conversations are tactical others more strategic.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
Experience in the Procurement field
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint Word Outlook)
Professional fluency in English (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Supply Chain Business Administration Economics or related field
CIPS APICS CPIM or similar procurement certifications
International procurement experience
Experience with e-procurement tools
Experience leading multi-regional projects in the procurement field
Additional European languages
