Job Description
Job Description:
- Provide direct teaching to children identified as needing serviceswithin an early childhood program with various disabilities (Autism Medical Developmental and Communication impairments)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to develop and implement individualized Education Plans;
- Maintain accurate and current documentation; create lesson plans aligned with the curriculum Frameworks to ensure skill building;
- Ability to implement Applied Behavioral Analysis techniques;
- Create data management techniques to collect and analyze data for the purpose of tracking academic progress;
- Act as a liaison between school and parents;
- Maintain daily communication with parents;
- Work on toileting plans;
- Work in collaboration with other related services providers to ensure children have access to the curriculum;
- Implement assistive technology devices and programs for communication and learning
- Perform evaluations for eligibility for Special Education;
- Perform all such duties as requested by the principal or Director of SPED.
Qualifications:
Qualified and certified by the Massachusetts Department of Education. Applied Behavioral Analysis experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to set and occasionally required to walk and stand. The employee is occasionally required to bend and or twist at the trunk more than the average person. The employee is continuously repeating the same hand arm or finger motion many times. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds such as books and teaching material. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to travel to other buildings is required. The position requires the individual to sometimes work irregular or extended work hours and meet multiple demands from several people.
