Our primary backend service returns dynamic content generated at runtime that is ranked by machine learning models. Our team is part of Amazons Personalization organization a high-performing group that leverages Amazons expertise in machine learning big data distributed systems and user experience design to deliver the best shopping experiences for our customers. About the role:
As an engineer on the team you will play a key role in designing developing and building features on backend distributed services at scale. Since we are a central piece of the call stack for most pages at Amazon such as Homepage Detail Page and Search you will be in a position to have massive impact on the companys resiliency latency and depth of personalization. Youll also have opportunities to work with the Personalization Tools team to drive self-service tool changes that enable new features for our internal customers.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
