Job Description

Position Title: District-Wide School PsychologistPosition Type: Full-Time; 10-Month (School Year Unit A)Reports To: Director of Student ServicesPosition Overview:Ipswich Public Schools is excited to announce the creation of a new district-wide School Psychologist position. This role is designed to strengthen and align social-emotional behavioral and academic supports across all schools and grade levels through an educationally-rooted Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) addition to conducting psychoeducational evaluations providing individual and small-group counseling and participating in IEP/504 processes the School Psychologist will serve a leadership role in developing coaching and supporting Tier 1 systems and preventative practices particularly within the districts two elementary schools as an initial priority position emphasizes collaboration systems-building and proactive student support. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for inclusion data-informed decision-making and the belief that all students benefit from strong universal structures that support mental wellness academic readiness and social-emotional Responsibilities:MTSS Leadership and Tier 1 Systems DevelopmentServe as a district lead for the design implementation and alignment of Tier 1 supports related to SEL behavior executive functioning and school climate within the MTSS with educators administrators and student support teams to build strong school-wide and classroom-level practices that promote emotional wellness and and support the development of universal screeners student support protocols progress monitoring tools and proactive intervention with the district BCBA school counselors and other staff to ensure coherence and integration of behavioral and mental health Coaching and Capacity BuildingProvide consultation coaching and side-by-side support to educators and student support staff in implementing classroom strategies that promote regulation engagement and executive professional development for school-based teams on topics such as trauma-informed practices mental health awareness and inclusive behavior in Student Support Team (SST) meetings to assist with Tier 2/3 planning data interpretation and intervention and Direct Student ServicesCarry a caseload of students for short-term individual or small-group counseling focused on social-emotional learning skill-building and emotional crisis intervention efforts and participate in the development of individualized student support plans (e.g. behavior safety or reentry plans).Collaborate with school counselors social workers and administrators to ensure student support efforts are comprehensive and Education Evaluation and ComplianceConduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations (cognitive academic social-emotional) as part of the special education eligibility high-quality strengths-based evaluation reports that inform meaningful IEP and 504 findings at Team meetings and collaborate with families educators and related service providers to determine eligibility and develop appropriate and Professional ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate records service logs and documentation in compliance with district DESE and IDEA to data collection and analysis related to MTSS implementation special education service delivery and student current with best practices in school psychology MTSS implementation and culturally responsive mental health :Required:Masters CAGS or Doctoral degree in School Massachusetts DESE license as a School supporting school-wide systems of support and/or skill in psychoeducational assessment and collaboration communication and consultation to equity inclusion and trauma-informed :Experience working in elementary school with universal screening tools restorative practices and Tier 1 SEL facilitating professional development or staff Information:This is a new and evolving position within Ipswich Public Schools with an initial focus on strengthening Tier 1 and MTSS-related systems at the elementary level. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape this work district-wide and will join a team committed to proactive inclusive and collaborative student support.
