  1. JOB PURPOSE

(Provide an overview of the job its context in the organization and the contribution that it makes)

  • BIAL provides high standard reliability of its infrastructure equipment and systems;Water & Wastewater is an important system in making Bangalore International Airport a highly reliable world-class airport. Assists his superior in ensuring readiness and availability of the water & Wastewater system wrt terminal building & non-terminal building areas on a 365/7/24 basis. Main challenge will be to instill high safety awareness pro-active and customer-focused maintenance attitude and shortest-possible daily inspection for checking the healthiness of system
  • Quality Assurance of job carried out with regards to maintenance
  • Plan & supervision of preventive/corrective maintenance works.
  • Ready to attend break down maintenance in least response time
  • Documentation and Reporting of maintenance activities
  • Effective supervision of works being executed through outsourced agencies
  • To ensure the serviceability of all mechanical installations so as to facilitate adequacy in passenger comfort

Maintenance

  1. Critical systems like Potable Raw water & Sewer system to be maintained.
  2. Maintenance of system like RO UV Filters (Disc screen DMF and Bag filters) chlorine dosing system and Ozonation system
  3. Proactive & customer focused maintenance attitude
  4. Process knowledge wrt pumping & its related systems
  5. Updating of maintenance activities on Maximo.
  6. Leading the shift maintenance team to attend maintenance like preventive/corrective/breakdown with ease.
  7. Knowledge of different types of Pipes used in water system Pipe line laying & jointing arresting of leaks from pipes.

Quality

  1. Implement quality measuring monitoring mechanisms (based on IOT or latest technology) enhance quality of service in water supply and treated water supply systems
  2. Prepare the trend analysis wrt quality and find out the gaps & mitigate the same
  3. Develop quality indicators & Dashboard compare with similar industry and initiate improvement projects
  4. Monitor all the critical assets which are connected to quality outputs like filtration UV & Ozonation system to enhance the quality of water supply

Planning & scheduling

  1. Preventive maintenance activity to be planned based on system requirement & SAP schedule.
  2. Scheduling of maintenance activity should be planned based on time/concern technical personnel availability/spares/tools tackles/equipment.
  3. Proper planning to be kept in place to procure required materials/tools and tackles to maintain the breakdown activities in case of any maintenance.
  4. Capex & Opex planning to be done with inventory back up & future needs.
  5. Effective schedule is required to complete the project on time as assigned & site order book to be maintained.

Capex & Opex

  1. Required data like proposals Budgetary quote Timeline & RFQ/RFP to be prepared in line with our requirement with clear cut technical details.
  2. Capex work follow up need to be done on timeline basis & report to be sent to MM on regular interval wrt project development. All the works to be completed on time as per agreed timeline in RFQ/PO
  3. OPEX requirement need to be planned & procured. During any procurement supporting documents like Consumption details existing stock details need to be provided with respective PR.
  4. Invoice to be submitted within 3days after completion of work along with all supporting documents to initiate the payment process

Documentation

  1. Maintenance related documentation to be updated in SAP as and when required.
  2. Water test reports to be documented based on IATA rules & regulations.
  3. Ensuring all the drawings & documents related to water supply & sewer network are available at working locations for quick reference.
  4. Ensuring the instruments & equipment has valid calibration.
  5. Supporting inventory management & maintaining of IMS documents

Safety

  1. Safety has to be integral part during any maintenance activity.
  2. Ensure adherence to all safety regulations of the mechanical system according to BIALs safety concept

To maintain zero percent accident/incident

Compliance

  1. Track adherence to agreed service levels by contractors
  2. Initiate quality and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Handling Team of 14 shift workers like Plumbers Sewer men Electricians and helper who involved in corrective & preventive maintenance.

  • Handling of maintenance works at all relevant locations

  1. JOB SPECIFICATION

5.1. Education qualification and certifications(Indicate the level of education and certifications required)

  • BE in Mechanical/Chemical
  • Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical

5.2. Years of Experience (Years of relevant experience required)

  • Minimum Experience : 8 years of total experience for BE & 10 years for Diploma holders with a deep understanding of Water & wastewater systems activities

5.3. Computer skills(Indicate the required knowledge on software applications hard ware etc. that are required)

  • Basic MS office includes Excel Power Points Word and Windows
  • Hands on experience on SAP PM Module IBM Maximo
  • Auto CAD

5.4. Knowledge and work skillsIndicate what knowledge (machines equipment processes systems etc.) and work skills are required

  • Knowledge on water supply system especially on Water supply system/ETP/STP/WTP
  • Deft in various types of pumps and its maintenance
  • Knowledge on filtration systems Disinfection system and various water treatment system
  • Commitment towards high quality sense for improvement and optimization
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
  • Ability to remain calm and to retain the overview in crisis situations
  • knowledge on VFD systems
  • Valid Four-wheeler driving license required
