We are seeking a Claims Leader - Advisory to join our Claims Operations Team at Marsh. This role will be based out of our Norwich office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least 3 days a week in the office.
The role: Claims Leader - Advisory
The Claims Leader - Advisory will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring service delivery within our specialty Claims team and for managing a team of 20/25 Claims Handlers and Team Managers.
You will be part of the Leadership team and ensure that strategic objectives are communicated and delivered and will report to the UK Head of Claims Operations.
We will rely on you to:
- Manage lead and coach colleagues to achieve internal KPIs and client satisfaction for global claims operations management and services.
- Provide strategic guidance regarding regulatory and market imperatives within region.
- Lead efforts to improve claims processing efficiency across the region by synthesizing best practices and identifying opportunities for improved efficiencies including facilitating claims fast-tracking opportunities between clients insurers and adjustors to improve the efficiency of the department.
- Direct and partner with regional and country leadership to innovate identify and execute on new revenue models for both Operations and Advocacy.
- Design and evaluate claims operations processes and strategies while managing the impact and delivery of change to achieve team operational goals and maximize process efficiencies across regions.
- Challenge existing practices and develops innovative solutions related to departmental risks operational controls and efficiency initiatives in order to contribute to effective management of shared operations.
- Manage complex negotiations and influences insurers to ensure that Claims engagements with clients and insurers result in maximum likelihood of favourable client (and departmental) outcomes.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with regional and country advocacy teams to drive claims operations changes within the firm.
- Evaluate escalated claims process issues of high complexity affecting direct reports (and potential secondary reports) and provides resolution or escalates further to ensure effective outcomes.
- Design evaluate and approve operational controls in accordance with the established business policies and procedures to ensure that they align with Global standards.
- Lead the data improvement initiative for Claims.
- Develop and implement solutions to areas already identified as requiring efficiency improvement. Continue to scan ongoing team activities to ensure we are working smart and in conjunction with our partners that the Target Operating Model continues to evolve.
- Ensure all requirements are met documenting all regulatory processes and evidence to adherence.
- Be Data literate and focus on data driven discussions with the teams and develop high performance culture in the team.
What you need to have:
- Proven team leadership experience
- An excellent understanding of Specialist product lines especially Aviation Energy and liability and commercial property damage/business interruption. Knowledge of further product lines is beneficial.
- Experience working within a commercial claims environment at a broker insurer or other claims handling/loss adjusting organisation.
- Knowledge of insurer claims propositions and an understanding of what best practice looks like in claims service.
- Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong Data capabilities and influence decisions based on data to drive better outcomes for the teams clients and carriers.
