You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailUnder general supervision this position is responsible for routine corrective maintenance on interior/exterior portions of all Hospital buildings in accordance with all State and local guidelines and Botsford Hospital (BH) and departmental policies and procedures. This position is responsible for the design and construction of new projects as designated.
Designs constructs and installs custom carpentry requisitions including cabinetry laminate work stations desks storage areas ceiling grid systems and counter tops.
Obtains and orders the most cost-effective prices for carpentry materials needed.
Repairs various structures to include but not limited to removing and replacing doors for alterations or door repairs; door hardware replacement lock repairs/replacements furniture etc.
Maintains the Carpenter Shop according to established policies and procedures in regards to safety procedures.
Reads and interprets blueprints in completion of assigned job.
Provides appropriate training for (BH) volunteers in the performance of selected carpenter duties.
Complies with and follows the on-call policy as directed by Supervisor.
Must be eligible for overtime status. Is able to work reasonable extended hours to accomplish priority repairs and to fill in for disaster vacation or illness coverage.
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of a vocational/trade program
LIC-Drivers License - STATEMI State of Michigan
Preferred
3 years of relevant experience Three years of experience in a finish carpenter capacity
