Job Description
Position Title: Registered Nurse PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) Traveler
Department: PACU / Recovery
Location: Athena Medtech

Shift: Monday Friday 07:00 AM 07:30 PM (12-hour shifts 3 days/week)

Total Weekly Hours: 36
Athena Medtech is seeking an experienced and highly skilled PACU Registered Nurse to join our perioperative team in a traveler capacity. The ideal candidate will have a background in ICU as well as PACU experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center including care for pediatric patients (PEDS). This role requires quick critical thinking strong collaboration skills and the ability to provide high-quality post-anesthesia recovery care.
Minimum Qualifications-
Experience Required:

ICU experience
-
PACU experience in Trauma Level 1 or 2 facilities

Inpatient PACU and pediatric (PEDS) experience

Certifications Required:
-
NIH Stroke Scale Certification
-
BLS and ACLS (if not already listed consider adding these for completeness)

Licensure: Active and unrestricted RN license compliant with state and facility requirements

Implement and manage individualized care plans for post-anesthesia patients
-
Monitor document and communicate patient conditions and responses to interventions
-
Serve as a liaison and coordinator among interdisciplinary team members to ensure cohesive patient care

Execute physician and nursing orders accurately and efficiently

Assess and coordinate patients discharge planning needs in collaboration with healthcare team members

Provide compassionate and effective care for both adult and pediatric recovery patients in a fast-paced high-acuity environment
