Job Description
Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (Travel Role)
Department: Respiratory Care
Location: Athena Medtech
Schedule: Monday Friday 6:00 PM 6:00 AM 12-Hour Night Shifts 3 Days/Week
Total Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Employment Type: Contract/Travel Assignment
Athena Medtech is seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Respiratory Care team on a night shift schedule. The ideal candidate will be a dependable and compassionate professional with at least 2 years of clinical experience particularly in acute and emergency care settings.
Key Responsibilities-
Assess patients to determine the appropriate type and frequency of respiratory treatments.

Develop implement and monitor individualized plans of care based on diagnoses.

Operate and manage respiratory care equipment including ventilators and oxygen delivery systems.

Monitor record and communicate changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team.

Administer respiratory medications and perform advanced respiratory modalities.

Evaluate treatment outcomes and adjust care plans accordingly.

Educate patients and families regarding conditions treatments and available support resources.

Respond promptly to emergency codes and participate in resuscitation efforts as part of the critical care team.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Certification:

Valid RRT credential (NBRC)

Current state licensure as applicable

BLS and ACLS certifications required

Preferred Skills:
-
Experience working as a traveler respiratory therapist

Strong critical thinking communication and teamwork skills

Proficiency in EMR systems (e.g. EPIC) is a plus
