Job Description

Registered Respiratory Therapist Full-Time Nights
Department: Respiratory Care
Employer: Athena Medtech
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts 7:00 PM 7:30 AM Monday to Friday (36 hours/week)
Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in an acute care hospital setting
Certifications Required: BLS ACLS NRP

Position Summary

Athena Medtech is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Respiratory Care team. This full-time night-shift position is ideal for an experienced clinician who is confident in providing advanced respiratory care in an acute care hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment plans and therapy frequencies based on clinical diagnoses.

  • Implement and monitor individualized respiratory care plans ensuring equipment functionality and treatment effectiveness.

  • Perform and evaluate advanced respiratory care modalities and respond to patient changes promptly.

  • Administer respiratory medications and monitor their effectiveness.

  • Accurately document and communicate patient condition and treatment progress to the healthcare team.

  • Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions treatment goals and community resources.

  • Respond as a member of the code team to provide life-saving respiratory interventions during emergencies.

Qualifications
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting.

  • Valid BLS ACLS and NRP certifications.

  • Proficient in the use of ventilators BiPAP/CPAP nebulizer therapy and other advanced respiratory modalities.

  • Excellent critical thinking problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in adult and neonatal critical care environments.

  • Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems.

  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure team-based clinical environments
