Job Description

Job Title: ICU Exposure MBBS RMO
Overview
The ICU Exposure MBBS RMO (Resident Medical Officer) plays a critical role within the healthcare team in managing patients with severe and life-threatening illnesses in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As a vital part of the medical staff the RMO is responsible for providing the highest standards of clinical care performing necessary medical procedures and ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role requires extensive medical knowledge hands-on skills and quick clinical judgment. The RMO collaborates closely with intensivists nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to create and implement patient care plans and respond effectively to emergencies. Being a part of the ICU team allows the RMO to gain invaluable experience in a high-pressure environment enhancing their diagnostic and procedural skills making them integral to patient management and the overall efficacy of the unit.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in admission assessments of ICU patients.
  • Conduct daily rounds to monitor patient progress.
  • Perform essential medical procedures under supervision.
  • Administer prescribed medications and therapies.
  • Collaborate with ICU team on treatment plans.
  • Provide emergency interventions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Participate in code blue situations as a first responder.
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions.
  • Assist with discharge planning and follow-up care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Attend and contribute to medical education sessions.
  • Support nursing staff in patient care delivery.
  • Stay updated with current medical practices and technologies.
Required Qualifications
  • MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
  • Registered medical practitioner with valid medical license.
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of critical care protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in emergencies.
  • Understanding of ethical issues in medicine.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Competency in using medical technology and equipment.
  • Team player with a collaborative attitude.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology related to ICU care.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially.
  • Previous experience in ICU or emergency care is advantageous.
