Job Description
We are looking for a Data Engineer that will work on the collecting storing processing and analyzing multiple sets of data from multiple data sources. The primary focus will be on choosing optimal solutions to use for these purposes then maintaining implementing and monitoring them. You may also be responsible for integrating them with the architecture used across the company.
Responsibilities
- Selecting and integrating any Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities
- Implementing ETL process when importing data from existing data sources
- Monitoring performance and advising any necessary infrastructure changes
- Building data ingestion processes
- Coding data transformations in SQL and/or python
- Troubleshoot/correct any data process bugs/defects
- Maintain data processes and documentation
- Lead/mentor junior data team members
- Implementing data retention policies
- Implementing data governance policies
- Innovate problem-solve and exhibit an owner-mindset
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer or data program or related experience.
- 10 years of direct relational dimensional and/or analytic experience (using RDBMS dimensional and ETL and data ingestion protocols).
- Expert with SQL Server Azure ADLS Synapse Databricks Snowflake Oracle and other similar platforms
- Experience with building python API and document processing programs
- Expert with T-SQL Spark SQL and PLSQL and other similar languages
- Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources
- Experience with Data Mesh and data platform modernization a plus
- Knowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks
- Experience in team environment communication and presentation.
- Experience with Azure (ADF ADLS Synapse) a plus
- Experience with Collibra and/or other Data governance tools a plus
Salary Range:
$95600 - 162400 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension) health and welfare benefits (medical dental vision spending accounts and disability) paid time off parental and caregiver leave life & accident insurance and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
