Job Title: Day Service Tech

Job Summary:

Must demonstrate and exhibit mechanical aptitude a positive interest be self-directed and work effectively with all facility groups.

Must operate a fork lift and other powered and non-powered equipment.

Must be able to perform tasks on a ladder.

Must have the ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Changing light bulbs and fluorescent tubes hanging pictures changing fixtures setting up and assembling shelving setting up conference rooms delivering packages and assist Maintenance Mechanics as directed. Would perform minor building repairs such as changing ceiling tiles patch drywall paint minor plumbing and electrical repairs as required. Could assist in all other disciplines such as grounds and snow removal as well as other similar/incidental tasks
  • Would operate a tow motor and or aerial lift as required
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned by supervision
  • Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain organize and control inventory supplies tools and equipment
  • Clean and organize shop area. Maintain inventory of spare parts and material. Maintain tools and equipment for maintenance work

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma
  • Two or more years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be trained and certified to operate a fork truck. Must have a Valid Drivers License
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel crouch or crawl: and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently lift and/or lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Will be required to use ladders boom lifts scissor lifts fork trucks and other equipment to accomplish the job

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions high precarious positions: fumes or airborne particles: toxic or caustic chemicals: outside weather conditions: extreme cold: and extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
