Job Description
Speech Language Pathologist- Therapy Department

Work location: 4400 Long Prairie Road Flower Mound Texas 75028
Work hours: PRN- Must be available for 1 full weekend a month at minimum.

Heres What You Need
- Masters Degree Speech Language Pathology is required Or
- Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is required
- SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire is required Or
- SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire is required
- SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire is preferred And
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Problem solving ability; Ability to teach others; Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills Basic leadership skills
What You Will Do
- Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care
- Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validates for appropriateness
- Reviews available medical records and obtains pertinent medical history from patient or family
- Evaluates each patient using age and diagnosis appropriate assessment tests and measurements including appropriate outcome assessment tool(s)
- As required participates appropriately in departmental safety drills / emergency procedures
- Documents all aspects of assessment plan of care and re-certifications in accordance with departmental TJC Medicare and other applicable regulatory guidelines
