The successful Business Process Engineer uses analytical skills to model business processes and unlock efficiencies within those processes. Define and create a workflow application in a way that meets the end users needs. The Engineer will use workflow software to create process models build user interfaces and forms implement business rules and enforce compliance gates. Provide training and support to the Business Unit prioritize change requests and implement enhancements. Other responsibilities include managing the maintenance of forms and workflows in the production environment troubleshooting technical support issues and acting as a liaison with the software vendor and Baird IT.
Position will be based from either our global headquarters in Milwaukee WI or Louisville KY with the Engineer working from the office 4 days/week and 1 day/week working from home.
The main responsibilities for the Business Process Engineer include:
Project Execution:
- Perform development and implementation of automated process workflow solutions using a variety of technologies (Java JavaScript C# Angular React SSIS) to provide accurate and creative solutions to client problems.
- Independently develop creative solutions to client problems that enhance user experiences (UX).
- Extract and interpret data to support analytical approach independently.
- Troubleshoot and triage moderately complex issues within system and solutions and escalating where appropriate.
Quality Assurance:
- Writes code that is easy to understand modify and maintain. Conduct code reviews to ensure coding standards and best practices to ensure solutions meet appropriate integrity levels.
- Develop and perform testing through manual and/or automated methods to ensure solutions meet functional requirements.
- Successfully navigate the release management process
- Locate or create adequate data to facilitate testing scenarios.
- Identify risks issues dependences and milestones and works with team to resolve issues.
Relationship Management:
- Develop strong partnerships with team functional peers sponsors and multiple stakeholders. Navigate organizational dynamics to achieve desired outcomes.
- Tailor communication appropriately for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Manage stakeholder expectations.
- Collaborate with vendor teams on integration and support of platform.
Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct the onboarding and technical training of new engineering associates and participate in ongoing mentoring with team members.
- Implement continuous improvement and innovation opportunities using new or current technologies.

Education and Qualifications:
- BS in Software Engineering Computer Science Computer Engineering Management Information Systems or Information Technology Management is preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant software development experience in an enterprise internship or academic environment combined with a proven track record of delivery quality solutions on time.
- Completion of one or more recognized programming or technology certificate programs preferred.
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented programming (Java preferred) Web Technologies and Architecture IT Infrastructure and Database Operations.
- Experience in using front end technologies (Angular React etc) to create quality user experiences.
