Full-Time Staff Salary Exempt Remote Online
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
JOB SUMMARY
The Instructional Designer has the primary responsibility of working with faculty as subject matter experts to plan develop/redesign and implement high-quality courses to create engaging learning experiences through the application of effective pedagogies instructional design processes and educational technologies. The Instructional Designer also serves as a point of support for faculty and institutional initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Work with faculty as subject matter experts to develop and redesign courses to create engaging learning experiences.
- Develop and recommend interface design sequence of instruction use of assessments and the best design of course materials and activities that adhere to assessment guidelines and instructional best practices.
- Apply knowledge of effective pedagogies instructional design processes and educational technologies in course design and delivery.
- Design and build a load of courses each academic year.
- Provide instructional design support for faculty.
- Complete tasks related to institutional research assessment and institutional initiatives.
- Perform any other job function that is deemed necessary by the AVP.
- Attend University events as assigned.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

- An understanding of the importance of diversity inclusion and equity.Preferred Masters degree in Instructional Design or related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of developing and delivering best practices in online and blended learning.
- Experience in developing and redesigning fully online and blended courses.
- Familiarity with educational technologies and Learning Management Systems.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team to accomplish department and university goals.
- Ability to work well independently and remotely.
- A personal commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and to the mission and core values of the Church of the Nazarene.
Supervision Received:
Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
Supervision Exercised:
May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees or interns.
