What you will get to do:
Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings for dies molds fixtures and automation equipment
Design retooling solutions that boost manufacturing efficiency and product quality
Develop and optimize precision tooling for stamping injection molding and automated assembly
Design custom jigs and fixtures for lithium-ion cell manufacturing
Support tooling trials first-article inspections and validations
Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related production issues
Conduct root cause analysis on defective tooling and drive corrective actions
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling reliability and reduce cycle times
Implement and uphold quality control standards in tool and die production
Work closely with production R&D and quality teams to ensure tooling fits seamlessly into production workflows
Partner with external suppliers and vendors for tool design and development
Provide thorough documentation and feedback to improve future designs and processes
What will make you successful:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
5 years of hands-on experience in tooling die design retooling and fixture development; 10 years preferred
Prior work in battery precision manufacturing or high-performance composites is a plus
Proficiency in Fusion 360 SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software
Strong knowledge of stamping die design and machining processes
Familiarity with materials selection heat treatment and manufacturing best practices
Capable of using first-principles thinking to design innovative tooling solutions
Clear precise communicator and collaborator across teams
Ability to lift carry and maneuver tooling components as needed
Independent self-driven and eager to contribute in a fast-paced evolving environment
