The Role

At Block our Strategic Sourcing organization drives value creation across our $2.5B indirect spend portfolio while enabling business growth and innovation. As the Global Head of Strategic Sourcing youll shape how we partner with suppliers and stakeholders to deliver impact at scale leading a high-performing global team that transforms how Block approaches vendor partnerships and category management. Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer you will have the unique opportunity to drive Blocks strategic sourcing vision and impact the companys growth. You Will

• Drive Blocks strategic sourcing vision through innovative category strategies that optimize our $2.5B indirect spend portfolio while enabling business growth and managing risk
• Transform our supplier ecosystem by implementing modern category management practices performance metrics and governance frameworks that scale with our business
• Lead complex enterprise-wide negotiations and develop strategic supplier partnerships that create sustainable value and competitive advantages for Block
• Build and develop a large high-performing global teams (25 ppl) that deliver exceptional results through best-in-class sourcing methodologies and continuous improvement
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Block to understand business priorities and translate them into actionable sourcing strategies that accelerate growth.
• Modernize our sourcing capabilities through technology implementation process optimization and data-driven decision making frameworks
• Create and execute supplier lifecycle programs that ensure operational excellence from selection through performance management and off-boarding
• Establish and maintain robust SOX compliance and risk management practices while supporting internal and external audit requirements and due diligence processes

You Have

• 15 years of strategic procurement in a high-growth technology or financial services environment
• 7 years in a leadership management position which includes direct people management experience and leading leaders of others
• Deep category knowledge across multiple spend areas with a strong emphasis on Technology Marketing and Corporate/Professional Services
• Ability to project manage demonstrate project status key actions risks and opportunities
• Ability to navigate in unstructured environments while garnering trust with internal customers
• Experience proactively resolving performance issues with assigned suppliers to ensure resolution
• Experience leveraging technology and financial systems to extract and analyze data
• MBA/Advanced technical degree is preferred
