A well-established engineering manufacturer based in Kirkbymoorside is looking to appoint a PCB Test and Repair Engineer to join their electronics team. This is a full-time permanent role working within a modern clean and well-equipped facility. The company designs and builds specialist equipment used in demanding environments and has a strong reputation for quality and innovation.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced technician with excellent fault-finding skills and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Testing PCBs using oscilloscopes multimeters ATE and diagnostic tools
Fault-finding to component level on multi-layer boards
Reworking and repairing SMDs connectors and through-hole components
Soldering and desoldering using hot-air stations microscopes and reflow ovens
Carrying out computer-controlled test procedures
Recording test results repairs and any modifications accurately
Liaising with design and production teams to support quality and improvements
Experience required
Previous experience in PCB test and repair (ideally 2 years)
Confident interpreting circuit diagrams schematics and BOMs
Skilled in soldering and rework of surface-mount and through-hole components
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Good communication and documentation abilities
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Qualifications & Desirables:
Qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (e.g. HNC HND City & Guilds BTEC) or equivalent hands-on experience
IPC-A-610 certification (preferred but not essential)
Familiarity with multi-layer rigid-flex or other complex board types
Benefits:
37 hours per week: 8.30am 4.30pm Monday to Thursday 8.30am 4.00pm Friday
Flexi-time available
Overtime paid at time and a half (Monday to Saturday) double time (Sundays)
25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
