Job Description

Regulatory Compliance Reporting Specialist
Location: Ann Arbor Birmingham Grand Rapids Kalamazoo Novi (MI) or Naples (FL)
Varnum LLP a leading Michigan-based full-service law firm with over 180 attorneys across six offices is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Reporting Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position offering the flexibility to be based out of any of our offices.
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates a strong commitment to client service. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical and communication skills the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit external regulatory reports to federal state and international agencies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of reports in accordance with strict daily deadlines.
  • Collaborate across departments and contribute to team-based projects while independently managing assigned responsibilities.
  • Support special projects including responses to ad hoc regulatory data requests.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelors degree required.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in regulatory compliance legal operations or substantial interaction with compliance or legal functions.
Required Skills and Attributes:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work products and communications.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and committed to continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to translate repetitive processes into automated workflows.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with professional staff.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs Sheets Slides).
  • Experience using Chromebooks.
Work Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours as needed to meet client or regulatory deadlines.
