Assistant Accountant Apprentice
Starting Salary: 12000 Per Annum

Swarm Group is working with Knight Accountancy Ltd in their search for a Level 3 Assistant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in accounting and learning from experienced professionals.

Founded in 2019 the practice brings over 11 years of industry experience and specialises in working with sole traders and limited company owners who are serious about growing their businesses. As AAT-licensed accountants they provide a full range of accounting and tax services with a personal approachable style.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage client invoicing account records and payroll processing
- Perform bookkeeping duties using Hubdoc Xero (including bank reconciliations) and VAT returns
- Prepare self assessment tax returns for individuals
- Prepare accounts for sole traders and Limited Companies
- Support client onboarding communications and relationship management via email phone and occasional face-to-face meetings
- Contribute to improving internal systems and processes for greater efficiency
- Ensure timely completion of all tasks and compliance with deadlines
- Handle incoming calls and direct or record messages as needed
- Provide general administrative and marketing support
Working Week
Core working hours will be 30 hours per week from 9:30am to 4pm Monday to Friday. This role is office-based.

Desired Qualities and Requirements
- AAT Level 2 qualification (Desired)
- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above
- Strong communication skills
- Basic familiarity with Xero accounting software
- Proficient in general IT and computer use
- Genuine interest in pursuing a long-term career in accountancy
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive mindset with the ability to use initiative
- Strong work ethic and a positive eager-to-learn attitude
Training Information
Training will be with Swarm Training a national apprenticeship provider in the UK. The successful candidate will work towards a Level 3 Assistant Accountant qualification which takes 15-18 months to complete. The apprentice must complete a minimum of 6 hours per week during working hours with monthly training sessions conducted by a tutor with tasks assigned to be completed during those hours.
