Job Title: Production Scheduler (2 year fixed term contract)
Salary/Grade: 33768 - 38000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Larne
Benefits:
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Up to 10% bonus
Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employees contribution up to 6%
Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employees contribution.

The opportunity
At Caterpillar NI we have an opportunity for a Production Scheduler to join the team for a 2 year fixed term contract. The role will involve developing managing coordinating and controlling complex production schedules throughout each facility area.
What you will do:
Own and drive production schedules; review workflow of production workers inventory levels capacity constraints machine breakdowns product quality etc. to ensure operational excellence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve product-related issues and incorporate customer and business requirements.
Analyze and troubleshoot planned production scheduling problems; recommending process improvements to optimize the scheduling process.
Develop and distribute key supply chain performance indicators necessary to monitor progress towards goals and provide feedback for decisions regarding improvement of facility performance.
What you have:
Production Scheduling and Control - Level Extensive Experience:
Demonstrable Scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment.
Extensive experience with SAP.
Creates manages and controls production schedule of Machine Shop Fabrications to ensure on time parts availability to assembly operation.
Manages creation and releasing of production orders vs capacity within each area.
Resolves critical or costly workflow problem areas and recommends improvements.
Planning: Tactical Strategic - Level Working Knowledge:
Creates and controls short-term operational plans within Fabrications level loading capacity planning and smoothing the schedule for a steady build schedule ensuring machines are utilized efficiently.
Defines Programming decision making criteria.
Anticipates and adapts to plan changes.
Monitors progress of work against plan as required to meet objectives.
Reports variances and makes agreed-upon corrections.
Data Gathering & Analysis - Level Working Knowledge:
Data gathering and producing reports on Supply Chain KPIs and facility performance to help drive operational decisions.
Reports problems that arise in the data collection process and works with other teams to resolve errors in SAP data.
Problem Solving - Level Working Knowledge:
Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.
Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder.
Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information.
Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution.
Cross-Team Integration - Level Working Knowledge:
Scheduling Lead on Programming and Fabrication Projects.
Maintains a strong internal network that promotes informal collaboration.
Shares information that may be relevant to other teams and applies relevant information gathered.
Effective Communications - Level Extensive Experience:
Operations/Production main point of contact/safe source of data and information on plans.
Ability to communicate with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
Additional information:
There is up to 10% travel requirement for this role.
There is a requirement of 5 days a week in the office.
