Job Description
Womens Softball Assistant Coach
Skidmore College Athletics Fitness and Recreation Department
Skidmore Colleges department of Athletics Fitness and Recreation invites applications for a 9-month (part-time) position as Assistant Coach for Womens Softball. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to a competitive NCAA Division III program while gaining hands-on coaching and administrative experience.
This position is weekend and evening hours are required.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with all aspects of daily practices training sessions and game preparation
- Coaching and mentoring student-athletes in a competitive inclusive environment
- Recruiting prospective student-athletes in alignment with the values and academic standards of Skidmore College
- Scouting opponents and contributing to game strategy
- Overseeing the teams social media presence and content creation
- Supporting team operations including equipment room responsibilities and home game management
- Building positive relationships and communicating effectively with student-athletes families faculty staff and alumni
- Other duties as assigned by the head coach
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Collegiate Softball playing experience
- Strong Communication organizational and leadership skills
- Commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes
- Current CPR and AED certification or ability to obtain
Preferred Qualifications:
- Collegiate coaching experience
- Comfortable breaking down game and individual film
Pay Rate: $15000
