BEST Logistics Group is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Risk Manager to join our team in Kernersville. If youre motivated customer-focused and thrive on problem-solving wed love to connect.
About The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Risk Manager to oversee and manage risk through our brokerage operations. This role will be responsible for identifying analyzing and mitigating financial operational and compliance risks associated with carrier vetting customer contracts cargo claims insurance requirements and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures tailored to freight brokerage operations.
Monitor carrier onboarding and vetting processes to ensure compliance with FMCSA and company standards.
Review and negotiate customer and carrier contracts with a focus on risk exposure liability and insurance terms.
Manage claims related to cargo loss/damage and coordinate with insurance providers carriers and legal teams as necessary.
Stay current with regulatory changes (FMCSA DOT etc.) and industry best practices affecting freight brokerage.
Conduct audits and risk assessments on brokerage transactions and operational practices.
Collaborate with legal compliance operations and finance teams to promote a culture of proactive risk management.
Train staff on risk-related issues including fraud detection carrier compliance and cargo claim processes.
Support business continuity planning and crisis response for transportation-related incidents.
Job requirements
Qualifications:
Experience in freight brokerage or logistics with a focus on risk management compliance or claims.
Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations freight claims handling and carrier vetting processes.
Familiarity with TMS platforms and carrier monitoring tools (e.g. Carrier411 McLeod Highway etc.).
Excellent analytical communication and negotiation skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
Experience working in a 3PL or freight brokerage environment.
Professional certification in risk management or compliance (e.g. CRM CPCU TIA CTB).
