Job Description

TITLE: HS Vocal Accompanist

POSTION TYPE: INST

STIPEND AMOUNT: $1769.00

HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:


Required:

1. Experience accompanying a vocal ensemble.
2. Ability to sight read vocal scores effectively.

Desired:

1. Degree in music with an emphasis in vocal or piano performance.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Conduct and administer performances and rehearsals of a high school jazz band.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Play piano for vocal department as needed in rehearsals and concerts.
2. Prepare music in a variety of styles and genres.
3. Maintain sensitivity to the ensemble needs.
4. Notify the director when the piano needs tuning and maintenance.

ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):

1. Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.

2. Maintain confidentiality.

3. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.
