Job Description
A growing family-owned business is seeking a hands-on and experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of key financial operations. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in accounting finance and business operations who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. The ideal individual will be organized analytical and comfortable working across departments to support growth and efficiency.
Responsibilities Include:
Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal financial reports.
Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger management and journal entries.
Manage cash flow and oversee daily cash position and bank reconciliations.
Submit and monitor Positive Pay transactions to prevent fraudulent activity.
Conduct cost accounting and margin analysis to support business decision-making.
Collaborate with leadership on financial planning budgeting and forecasting.
Ensure accuracy in financial data and support internal process improvements.
Assist in audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Ideal Qualifications:
5 years of experience in accounting preferably in a mid-size or entrepreneurial environment.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Experience with banking cash management and cost accounting practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Analytical detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
Experience working in a family-owned business is a plus.
