Salary: $50000/yr
City Experiences is seeking a Senior Accountant for our Puerto Rico Ferry operation in Metro.
About You:
This person will be adaptable dynamic and embody City Experiences RESPECT Service System.
About the Opportunity:
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for performing daily sales and cash reconciliations run and analyze daily credit card settlements from various merchants monitor bank activity and prepare bank reconciliations support accounts receivable and accounts payable activities running reports inputting data into Excel compiling information and day-to-day general office tasks. The activities of the Staff Accountant require accuracy and organization to meet deadlines. This position will interact with the Rider Services Department in gathering reports and clarifying discrepancies which requires good communication skills. We are seeking team members whose passion lies into digging into the details researching and sharing knowledge that drive cost reduction and sound business decisions. This position supports our Controller and Accounting Manager within the HMS Puerto Rico Company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Daily sales and cash reconciliations
- Daily credit card settlements reconciliation from various merchants
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable activities
- Assist in preparation of monthly reports to Puerto Rico Authority and audit schedules
- Provide the accounting team with day-to-day office support including electronic filing organizing documentation and archiving essential records
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
- 2-3 years prior work experience in a professional accounting environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyze large amounts of data.
- Ability to manage priorities workflow and communicate across the organization
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
- Great Plains Dynamics preferred or other mid to large scale ERP
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and application of accounting principles
- Ability to properly organize and prioritize tasks.
- Honest dependable punctual and hardworking.
