Bachelors Degree in Nursing Microbiology Medical Technology or related field OR
Masters Degree in Public Health required
2 years of experience in acute care hospital alternative care setting (Rehab LTC SNU) or infectious disease epidemiology required
RN Registered Nurse if Bachelors Degree in Nursing upon hire required OR
MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist if Bachelors degree in Microbiology Medical Technology or Biology upon hire required OR
M(ASCP) - Microbiology if Bachelors degree in Microbiology Medical Technology or Biology upon hired required AND
CIC - Certification in Infection Prevention and Control within 3 years required
CIC Certification in Infection Prevention and Control preferred
What You Will Do
Collaborate on development of an annual IP plan based on population(s) served and services provided and collects/analyzes data to determine effectiveness of the plan
Utilize epidemiological principles to conduct surveillance and lead outbreak investigations
Conduct IPC rounds based on annual and periodic risk assessments to ensure compliance with IPC standards and regulatory requirements
Assess the risk of occupational exposures to infectious disease and recommend strategies for prevention
Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship (AS) efforts by identifying and detecting MDROs among the population served reporting surveillance trends over time using surveillance data and analyzing antibiograms.
Pursue/achieve/maintain required applicable certification and licensure
