Job Description
Our Material Handler Class 1 is responsible for managing the flow of materials throughout the facility ensuring timely supply to production lines and maintaining organization in storage areas. This role involves receiving storing and distributing materials tools and equipment while meticulously tracking inventory levels and documenting transactions. You should have experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks and possess strong organizational skills to maintain order and efficiency. Attention to detail and the ability to follow safety procedures are crucial as the Material Handler Class 1 plays a key role in supporting production activities and preventing delays.
WHAT ITS LIKE TO WORK AS A MATERIAL HANDLER CLASS 1
Operate various types of material handling equipment including forklifts pallet jacks and hand trucks to move materials around the facility
Receive and inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the supervisor
Load and unload materials from trucks organizing them in the storage area or on the production floor
Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and ensure proper stock levels are kept
Follow handling instructions for sensitive materials to prevent damage and ensure safety
Pick and prepare materials for production orders ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to assembly areas
Participate in inventory counts and assist in maintaining the inventory management system up-to-date
Label and store materials in designated areas using inventory tags and tracking systems
Ensure that the material storage areas are kept clean organized and free from hazards
Adhere to safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

Available to work days nights weekends and holidays
You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks
Like to build long term relationships with your customers
Ability to read write speak and understand the English language to include documents
Physical activity may include:
o Stand and walk for extended periods of time
o Ability to lift 70 pounds or more
o Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment
o Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
Qualifications
Minimum age of 18 years old
1 year inventory or warehouse experience
Ability to pass a drug screen
Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA TSA Port Authority U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
