Headquartered in Datchet England the companys European operations employ over 550 people representing the Hitachi Group in EMEA leading the unified regional strategy and driving One-Hitachi growth. As a Regional extension of Hitachi HQ it also provides functional leadership in Finance HR Legal IT & Facilities.
What youll be doing
Operating as part of the Finance and Accounting Team within the Tax Group this role supports the EMEA Senior Tax Manager in providing the Hitachi Group Companies with transfer pricing support in Europe. Sitting within a team of 9) and having one direct report the Transfer Pricing Lead is part of a high performing tax team working in a culturally diverse environment.
This is a great opportunity for a Transfer Pricing specialist to broaden their Transfer Pricing experience working in a multinational company gaining exposure to a wide range of different and interesting areas within the Tax function.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the Transfer Pricing compliance process for Hitachi EMEA plus several other Hitachi Group companies in these and other territories as & when required. This includes:
Managing the relationship with these group companies and contribute to increasing number of companies that receive transfer pricing support.
Managing the process of preparation and filing of Country-by-Country Reporting Notifications with a number of tax authorities in the region.
Manage the process of preparation or updating the transfer pricing documentation for these and other group companies including performing benchmark research and economic analyses.
2. Providing Transfer Pricing advisory to Hitachi EMEA plus several other Hitachi Group companies in these and other territories. This includes:
Undertaking in-depth company industry and market research.
Designing and applying financial models to analyze and price intercompany transactions for products and services.
3. Be the main point of contact for Transfer Pricing matters in the region including:
Requesting information from group companies for transfer pricing reporting.
Dealing with transfer pricing audits throughout the region.
4. Be the main point of contact with the Hitachi HQ Tax Team and other regional tax teams for Transfer Pricing matters including:
Dealing with requests from the Hitachi HQ tax team.
Preparing the Hitachi Groups Country by Country Report.
Reviewing the groups transfer pricing information and determining transfer pricing risks.
5. Drive the implementation of the transfer pricing strategy for the Hitachi Group in the EMEA region.
6. Provide strategic guidance regarding the appropriate transfer pricing controls procedures and reporting requirements.
7. Manage the implementation of finance tax or transfer pricing specific projects.
8. Work closely with the EMEA Head of Tax to identify appropriate approaches and strategy for local entities in dealing with corporate tax and transfer pricing audits and controversies with local tax authorities.
9. Manage and develop junior transfer pricing staff including:
Effectively delegating work to junior staff
Review work carried out by junior staff
Carry out annual performance reviews

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:
This position ideally suits someone who holds a bachelors degree or masters in economics or has an accountancy tax or similar qualification with experience in transfer pricing from working with large multinationals either from an in house or tax consulting perspective and is looking for the next challenge in their career.
In-depth understanding of transfer pricing policies and methodologies the arms length principle and business economics is required.
Ability to perform benchmark searches and analyses using relevant databases.
Understanding of International Tax Issues.
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills oral and written.
Strong organisational skills.
Attention to detail.
Pro-active team player.
Strong computer literacy skills (particularly Excel).
Fluent in English (written and spoken). Additional languages to English advantageous.
Knowledge of using benchmarking databases such as Orbis and TP Catalyst. Knowledge of using Bloomberg is advantageous.
SAP skills preferred.
Ability to handle multiple workflows at one time prioritizing in an effective manner.
Excellent research skills.
Ability to interact effectively with the finance team including regional finance managers/directors corporate tax and transfer pricing colleagues as well as tax authorities and external advisors.
