Our client a pioneering health technology company is in search of an Assistant Controller to join their driven and collaborative team based in Halifax NS. This is a permanent role offering a hybrid work location and is ideal for a growth oriented professional with a bright and positive attitude eager to be part of an innovative group.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Full cycle accounting
- Month-end closing and financial reporting
- Accounts payable and payroll input
- Reconciliations
- Government claims and funding support
- Assist with budgeting
- Contribute to year-end audit
- Compliance reporting
- Participate in special projects as required
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- CPA designation or other recognized accounting designation is strongly preferred
- 3 - 5 years progressive accounting experience in a full cycle role
- Experience working with a technical environment is a definite asset
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new programs efficiently
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work with a wide variety of colleagues and associates
- Adaptable and flexible work ethic
- Demonstrate sound judgement and discretion with confidential information
