Position Description:

CGI is a leading consulting services organization committed to delivering innovative solutions that enhance customer experiences and drive business growth. As we expand our technology team within the retail banking space we are seeking a talented .NET API Developer to join us.

As a cloud-native developer you need to be familiar with the principles and benefits of cloud-native technology. Cloud-native systems are designed to be agile scalable and flexible allowing them to run efficiently in various cloud environments. You will be focusing your energies on transforming and modernizing banking infrastructure to enable improved scalability and security while reducing technical debt. This will be achieved through automation creating and destroying instances as needed and ensuring 24x7 availability and the real-time synchronization of transaction data. You will also be leveraging microservices which will facilitate technology independence and permit easy updates deployments and scaling.

Cloud-native development involves careful planning and migration from existing technology. It is not a simple lift and shift process; rather it requires thoughtful adaptation to exploit the benefits of cloud computing. Keep in mind that core banking systems play a critical role in financial institutions so attention to security reliability and compliance is essential. The transition to cloud-native core banking systems is an inevitable path for next-gen systems; your role on this team can be career-defining and the inevitable transformation will be a high profile one among some of the largest community-based financial institutions in Canada.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Work with other developers to design algorithms and flowcharts.
Design develop and maintain robust .NET APIs for banking applications.
Produce clean efficient code based on specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
Integrate software components and third-party programs.
Implement security protocols and access controls for identity management.
Optimize API performance and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API functionality debug and upgrade existing software.
Verify and deploy programs and systems.
Gather and evaluate user feedback to recommend and execute improvements.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelor s degree in computer science Software Engineering or a related field
Five to seven plus years of recent experience in .NET development
Proficiency in .NET Core C# MVC and Web APIs
Strong understanding of identity access management (IAM) principles
Familiarity with OAuth OpenID Connect and SAML
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a geographically distributed team with diverse skill sets and personalities.
Experience with containerization (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
Knowledge of microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and ideally MS Azure
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience working with banking systems or financial services applications is a plus.
A strong command of the English language interpersonal and collaborative skills and an ability to explain technical concepts to a business leader.
