Everest Evolution is the Wholesale-Exclusive arm of Everest serving the dynamic and rapidly growing US E&S market. Everest Evolution offers Property and Casualty insurance products across multiple business units with wholesale exclusivity for various products.
Everest Evolution a member of the Everest Group Ltd. (Everest) is looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Wholesale Primary Casualty Team in Atlanta. This is a hybrid position working 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.
The ideal candidate will possess a background in underwriting and be committed to delivering outstanding service and underwriting results.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
This candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of a profitable book of middle to large market sized E&S Primary Casualty business for General Liability and Commercial Automobile lines of business within the designated underwriting territory for selected candidate will assist in the implementation of a plan for growth in the region while creating brand awareness for plan will include goals and objectives for the team as well as for the region.
- Underwrite select new and renewal accounts to department standards
- Adhering to underwriting guidelines and referral processes
- Building and underwriting a diverse and profitable book of business
- Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with appointed wholesale brokers
- Developing implementing and controlling pricing and a risk selection standard that supports strategic objectives and achieves desired financial goals
- Effectively working with Actuarial Claims Loss Control Operations Finance and Information Technology
- Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies as well as the overall insurance marketplace.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in business or related field with insurance designations a plus.
- 4 to 7 years of relevant wholesale casualty underwriting experience with demonstrated skills to support leadership with strategies to support a profitable portfolio.
- Knowledge in GL segments and Commercial Automobile
- Be self-motivated and independent while maintaining underwriting discipline to achieve strategic objectives.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills.
- Ability to assess risk-inherent exposures and natural hazards.
- The ability to travel up to 25%
Knowledge Skills & Competencies:
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building with all business functions.
- Strong analytical skills in dissecting risk and portfolio data.
- Excellent sales and negotiating competencies.
