Position Overview:
A community-based healthcare organization is seeking a Report Writer/Data Analyst to support its Special Projects and Services (SPS) department. This role involves managing a variety of data sourcesprimarily from Electronic Medical Records (EMR)and creating customized reporting solutions using tools like Cognos.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities:
Report WritingLead the development and architecture of Cognos reporting solutions
Build and enhance complex customized reports and dashboards
Create and maintain Report Studio report sets using relational and multi-dimensional data
Translate business needs into clear reporting deliverables and timelines
Gather and document requirements manage report logs and verify accurate report delivery
Ensure reports are accurate and align with end-user expectations
Recommend and automate reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency
Analyze trends to identify opportunities for operational improvements
Understand department workflows and report validation processes
Provide support guidance and training to internal stakeholders
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors or users
Participate in user acceptance testing and other testing activities as needed
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience with Cognos report writing
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high degree of ownership
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Experience with EMRs and healthcare data projects is a plus
Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
