Primary Purpose:
To maintain the physical plant in a condition of operating excellence by maintaining all finished surfaces. To supervise and direct paint personnel and work schedules. To train new personnel on district policies and maintain logs and records of department needs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Current valid Texas drivers license.
- Must have clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Drivers requirements.
- Ability to speak read and understand the English language.
Special Knowledge/SKills:
- Minimum of six (6) years trade experience required.
- Able to communicate with fellow employees.
Salary/Pay Grade
$27.35/HS-11
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees.

Essential Functions:
- All responsibilities of a Painter I II III and Leadman.
- Supervise department employees assigning work and scheduling of building repairs.
- Make recommendations concerning hiring discipline and advancement.
- Make decisions or corrections in the field as needed.
- Monitor department purchases.
- Review specifications for new construction and remodeled facilities.
- Determine material and supplies needed on a daily basis.
- Complete paperwork for processing when the supervisor is out.
- Communicate with employees and all other district personnel.
- Monitor job site conditions for safety.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions for all levels:
- Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
- Able to work from various heights.
- Able to stand climb squat bend stoop crawl and kneel for and extended period of time.
- Be able to work late afternoon shift and on weekends.
- Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
- Be available for after hour demands subject to 24 hour responsibility.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Ability to work independently or with others.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
