Broadreach Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced Bench Joiners on behalf of our client based in Reading.

This position offers the following benefits:

  • 42.75 hours per week

  • Working hours: 07:3016:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:0016:00 on Fridays (with a 1-hour unpaid break each day)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing full-sized working rods within set timeframes

  • Preparing accurate and detailed cutting lists

  • Measuring and marking cutting lines using rulers pencils chalk and marking gauges

  • Checking components for accuracy against technical drawings

  • Operating authorised machinery for designated machining tasks

  • Cutting and shaping materials to precise measurements using hand tools machines or power tools

  • Completing both dry and final assembly of joinery components

  • Installing ironmongery fixtures and fittings with accuracy

  • Conducting quality checks and signing off finished joinery products

  • Assisting on-site joinery fitting teams as needed

  • Maintaining a strong focus on health and safety at all times

  • Attending required training sessions

  • Providing additional cover and working extra hours when reasonably requested by the Workshop Manager

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A City & Guilds or NVQ qualification (or equivalent) in Carpentry and Joinery

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings

  • Knowledge of traditional and modern joinery techniques with the ability to work to fine tolerances

  • Strong organisational and planning skills

  • A positive proactive attitude

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • Solid understanding of carpentry and joinery practices

  • Problem-solving skills to resolve issues effectively

  • General knowledge of building materials and associated trades
