Job Description
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta serving the education needs of approximately 17950 students in 42 schools. EIPS is recruiting a full-time Junior High Teacher at SouthPointe School.
SouthPointe School serves approximately 680 students in kindergarten to Grade 9 with 35 teaching staff and 17 support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan AB approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park AB. SouthPointe School in collaboration with the community provides a safe supportive learning environment in which every student will develop the skills and knowledge to become lifelong learners and contributing members of society.
- Commencing August 26 2025
- Teaching assignment will be Junior High Math English and CTS/F Foods.
- Open to internal and external applicants priority will be given to EIPS teachers who hold a continuous contract and meet the minimum requirements of the position

Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Effective organization and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
- Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
- First Aid training would be an asset
