The Team

This is an exciting time for the firm as Norton Rose Fulbright is implementing a range of exciting innovation projects and enterprise products for the EMEA region.

The Role

As a Business Systems Product Owner in EMEA IT you will be responsible for representing business needs and priorities prioritising and managing the product backlog for our member countries and working with vendors to facilitate seamless releases to our user community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand business and end-user needs; identify and prioritize features to be delivered to meet those needs.
  • Set expectations with business stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities features and functionalities.
  • Act as the voice of NRF to software suppliers especially in relation to prioritization of their product backlogs.
  • Guide all stages of development including user story development and sprint planning (only when necessary).
  • Maintain awareness of vendor roadmaps to pre-empt potential impacts to NRF users.
  • Direct and motivate the resources assigned to the Product Team.
  • Plan monitor and control projects with regard to time cost resources and the quality.
  • Work within appropriate product governance structures to agree roles and responsibilities for deliverables.
  • Work with development teams to create acceptance criteria and definitions of failures and done.
  • Prepare project stage and if necessary exception plans in conjunction with project team and agree them with the project sponsor and the Programme Management Office (PMO).
  • Follow the Norton Rose Fulbright change control process for managing changes to time cost and scope.
  • Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiate corrective action where necessary.
  • Report to the Project Board and PMO through status reports.
  • Work with the Architecture team to maintain the internal roadmap for business systems.
  • Prepare post implementation reports and undertake retrospectives for subsequent stages.
  • Engage and coordinate suppliers.
  • Facilitate technical and user focused workshops.
  • Develop business case for new investments as appropriate.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Ability to understand complex business problems and then identify and interpret business needs.
  • Experience with iManage Intapp and CRM products.
  • Strong change management credentials.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills preferably in legal services but will consider wider professional services.
  • Proven Product Management experience with a track record of delivering projects on time to budget and to agreed quality standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both orally and written.
  • Strong experience in leading managing and motivating teams.
  • Committed to producing high-quality dashboards product roadmaps and project plans.
